England v Japan matchday info

Updated: Mar 20

We hope you are looking forward to joining us at a resplendent Iffley Road for what promises to be a fantastic afternoon of international rugby. Last year in this fixture 15 tries were scored with breakthrough player, Noah Callouri scoring some sensational tries in a 52-47 victory to England. You can read the full match preview here. We are anticipating a bumper crowd so would recommend getting your tickets online in advance here.

As it will be busy, please take time to read this guide to plan your matchday so that you have the best possible experience:

Opening time: We recommend getting here well in advance of the 2:00pm kick off with both gates opening at midday. Skip the queues at the bar & find the best seats in your block by beating the crowd!

Getting here: There are multiple ways of getting here. We are well served by public transport links. It is also a short walk from the town centre and bike racks are available next to the Loverose way gate. If driving please be mindful that parking on site is limited and it is best bought in advance when securing your ticket as an additional option. If you are driving please ensure you do not go past the rugby gate into the University sport car park as this is subject to ANPR parking restrictions and fines are in place from the Sport department.

Tickets bought in advance: Please ensure that if you have bought a concession or U18 ticket you have ID to justify the ticket validity:

Concession:

  • Over 60

  • Oxford University or College member of staff

  • Student

  • OURFC member or alumni

Entrance to the ground: The ground is accessible via the Loverose Way gate at the bottom of the ground, or the gate on Iffley Road that leads behind the Pavilion. When queuing to enter the ground please be mindful of traffic and ensure you queue in an orderly fashion. If you have a bag with you, this may be checked by our stewards on entry and no alcohol is to be brought onto site or taken off when you leave the site.

Official Matchday programmes will be on sale with full team lists, a welcome from RFU Junior Vice President / OURFC President Stephen Pearson and in depth interview with England A Head Coach, Mark Mapletoft. These are available on the gate and are priced at £2.

Kit shop: As it is the end of the season, we will be running an end of season sale on all OURFC Castore branded kit. This can be purchased from the White Cabin Club Shop located to the South of the West stand with slashed prices.

Site map: To help you navigate around the Iffley Road site, take a look at the site map below. On here you will see where the gates, toilets and refreshment points are.

Pavilion queuing: The Pavilion can get busy at pinch points such as half-time in the game. To help us manage these busy periods, please follow the one way bar system to enable you to be served as swiftly as possible.

National Anthems: As it is an international match, both sides will be singing their national anthems prior to kick off. If you are able and willing to stand during them, please do so.

No smoking or vaping in the stands. If you wish to smoke or vape, please find an empty space away from the stands and other spectators to do so.

Post game: The Pavilion will stay open into the evening so please do come and enjoy some refreshments and take a look at the 157 years of history on the walls.

Leaving the site: We are located within a residential area and work hard with our neighbours to maintain good relationships. Please do ensure that you do not take any alcohol with you off site and keep noise to a minimum. Please also be mindful that Iffley Road is a main thoroughfare with a bike lane, so do take care when leaving.

We hope you have a fantastic afternoon with us and enjoy the match.
