Oxford University RFC Announces New Partnership with Chandlings Prep School

Oxford University Rugby Football Club is delighted to announce a new partnership with Chandlings Prep School, strengthening OURFC’s connections with schools across the local Oxfordshire community.

The partnership will provide Chandlings pupils with opportunities to engage with Oxford University Rugby both at school and at Iffley Road, creating new experiences around rugby while introducing young players to the history and environment of OURFC.

As part of the partnership, OURFC coaches and players will deliver two rugby sessions at Chandlings, giving pupils the opportunity to learn from those involved within the University rugby programme.

Chandlings will also be welcomed to Iffley Road for a dedicated rugby session and experience day, providing pupils with the chance to train at the home of Oxford University Rugby and experience the facilities used by OURFC players.

The partnership will extend into the matchday experience, with Chandlings receiving complimentary access to one of OURFC’s marquee fixtures against Premiership opposition during the season.

Chandlings will also have a visible presence at Iffley Road throughout the season with a pitch-side advertising board, while OURFC and the school will work together to showcase the partnership across their respective digital and social media channels.

The relationship forms part of OURFC’s wider ambition to build stronger links with schools across Oxfordshire and use the Club, its players and Iffley Road to provide positive rugby experiences for young people.

“It’s fantastic to welcome Chandlings into the OURFC family. One of the things we want to do more of is build genuine relationships with schools in and around Oxford and give young people the opportunity to experience what makes Iffley Road such a special place.

“This partnership gives us the chance to work directly with pupils at Chandlings, but also bring them into our environment through coaching, experiences at Iffley Road and some of our biggest matchdays of the season.

“Hopefully we can inspire more young people to enjoy the game, continue playing rugby and create some brilliant experiences for the pupils along the way.”
