Rugby returns to Iffley Road on the 1st of October as the Women*s Blues kick off their BUCS campaign against the University of Bristol.
After a demanding few weeks of preseason, the Women*s Blues are ready to return to action facing Bristol; a side known for their pace and power, it’s sure to be a high-stakes clash to start the season. With both teams aiming to start their campaigns strong, this fixture promises to be an intense showdown between two well-drilled university sides with eyes on the top tier.

The Blues last faced Bristol in January, travelling to Coombe Dingle for their first match of 2025. After 80 minutes the scoreboard read 38-25 to the hosts. Despite coming away with a defeat, the Blues put up a physical battle with lots of intent, creative play, and stable set-pieces. The squad’s physically and intentions during the match came to define the rest of their season; intentions that captain Chloe-Marie Hawley (#384) and head coach Scott Hall are hoping to reignite this season. Full match report available here.
But it’s back to Iffley Road for this clash and our Women*s Blues are certainly ready for their inaugural match of the season. So come on down for a 7pm KO on the 1st of October and cheer on the dark blues… we hope to see you there!
