On Sunday 15th February 2026, the OURFC committee and players gathered at the historic Vincent's club to announce the six teams from the club who would be taking on their light blue counterparts over the next fortnight. OURFC and Vincent's have a long standing relationship and to host all six of our team announcements there was truly special.

Blues:
The night started with Women's Blues Captain, Chloe-Marie Hawley (#384), proudly naming her 23 women to play in the 39th Varsity Match at StoneX on Saturday 28th February.

Following in Chloe-Marie's footsteps, Jack Hamilton (#1302) named his 23 men to challenge to win the Varsity Match having played in the last two campaigns. Both named Blues squads then raised a glass to the traditional toast of 'shoe the tabs'. The teams will be announced shortly to the public so keep your eyes peeled on our channels to see who has been selected. You can show your dark blue support for both Blues teams at StoneX by buying your tickets in advance here.

2nd XV's:

After both Blues squads had left Vincent's it was time for both 2nd XV squads to be announced. Captain of the Greyhounds, James Clegg (New College) has announced an incredibly strong 23 with plenty of players having represented the Blues already this season. The Greyhounds have had a very strong season, recently drawing against Barnes 2nd XV and beating London Welsh 2nd XV. You can catch both the Greyhounds and Whippets in action this Saturday 21st February at Grange Road as both teams look to retain their respective Varsity trophies. Following on from the Greyhounds announcement, captain Max Cook (Merton) announced his Panthers team to host Cambridge Tigers on Sunday 22nd February at Iffley Road. Last year the Panthers were triumphant and this season they are coming into the match after superb victories in Hilary term against Bath University 2nd XV and Cambridge Tigers, who they have faced already in the BUCS league. Tickets for the 'Cats Varsity' this Sunday are selling fast and you can buy these online here.

3rd XV's:

Finally it was the turn of the 3rd XV's. Co-captains of the Pumas, Sammi Shapiro (Pembroke) and Luisa Vieira (Oriel) named their powerful team to take on the Jaguars. After an incredibly close contest last year, the Pumas will be seeking redemption on Sunday kicking off at 12:30pm. The final team of the evening to be announced was the Whippets. Captain Dougie McWilliam (Lady Margaret Hall) announced his men to take on the Centurions at Grange Road on Saturday. The Whippets have had a fantastic season, playing week in week out with some strong performances in Hilary against Richmond and Beaconsfield, and are the first XV to run against the Tabs this Varsity season.
OURFC would like to thank Vincent's Club for hosting OURFC for the team announcements and across the 2025/26 season. The whole Vincent's team are incredibly supportive and we would like to thank in particular: David Butler, Tom Smith, Tom Barrett, Gonzo and Andy Harris for their unwavering support of OURFC.
