THE PWR JUST GOT A LITTLE MORE WILKO

OURFC are delighted to announce that Blue #404 and former captain Alex Wilkinson (affectionately known as Wilko) recently made her PWR debut after having been signed to the professional side of Harlequins F.C.
While studying Economics & Management at Keble college, Wilko played Blues throughout her three years at Oxford and was an extremely dominant force to be reckoned with on the Dark Blue side. In her last year she served as captain for the 2024/25 season. This involved leading a transatlantic USA Blues tour, captained the Blues side throughout a testing yet successful season and ultimately leading her team to victory in the Varsity match with a 27-7 lead. She most recently captained the Major Stanley's side to their first victory against the Blues ever since the inaugural Women*s Major Stanley's match in 2019.
Alex Wilkinson started off playing rugby at 4 years old for her local Reading Abbey side before later moving to Reading RFC and Henley Hawks. Throughout her years she has accumulated an already decorated rugby career playing for various different sides, including representing her country for England U20s. Wilko is no stranger to the premiership leagues having formerly played for premiership side Wasps RFC (alongside playing for Blues in her first year at university). Last year Alex played at Twickenham Allianz stadium in the Championship South 1 final where her team Richmond RFC won the league with a 38-31 victory over Old Albanian Saints.

Supported by her former teammates, friends and family, Alex Wilkinson made her debut at the hallowed Twickenham stoop on Saturday 19th September against a strong Gloucester-Hartpury side.
In her latest match on Saturday 3rd October she started as scrum-half against Ealing Trailfinders who fielded a team including international star Ruby Tui and Wilko's former Richmond teammate Jade Betsen. Supported by old girls and current Blues OURFC came out in full support on Saturday to cheer on their former skipper.

We applaud Wilko as she takes such exciting strides in the big leagues and OURFC are incredibly proud and very excited to cheer her on during her PWR journey.
Harlequins women's next fixture will be on the 17th October vs Bristol Bears at Twickenham Stoop.
