James, or JAGS, as he is affectionately known, completed a Sports and Exercise Science Degree at Exeter before coming up to Oxford to read an MSc in the Science and Medicine of Athletic Performance.

On the rugby field he has represented Newport RFC, Wales U18 and Wales U19, which he also captained. While at Exeter he played for the Exeter Chiefs and was capped by England and British Universities as well as England Students before getting his first Blue in 2003.

OURFC’s leading Samurai is an equally adept cricketer having represented his County at school level. Lately Jags can be found either diving from backward point or bowling deceptive seamers for the mighty “Path”.

Outside of sport and the library (!), Jags enjoys the countryside, speaking in foreign tongues, discovering Vinny’s port and cruising around in the infamous “Jags-uar”.
